Cute little ones near my office

Was rushing home yesterday, when I finally got to take a picture of him(or her)

So happy, I seldom see them nowadays, and it really warms my heart to see 1. Let alone take a picture of 1.

This morning, managed to take a picture of this parrot. There were a few up in the tree, wonder where they came from, its the second time I've seen them. =)

First time posting pictures, hope they turn out nice. :)

Touched by a teacher

I'm very touched after reading this entry.

Excerpts - I

Quote:

"
perhaps what we call the future has already happened, and only because our view is limited that we fail to see it. Perhaps that is why some people can 'read' it as easily as the light of a star which has been extinct for centauries.
Perhaps the secret lies in breaking away from the dimension of time - time as we normally conceive it, made up of years, hours, seconds.
"

- by Tiziano Terzani, A Fortune-Teller Told Me

Interesting concept, which many have known but fail to see it in another light. A star which becomes extinct is not apparent to us, as the light from the extinct star takes time to reach us, before we know it has been extinct. But the star has already become extinct(the future) by the time we see it(the present).

Am reading the above book now, which is very intellectually stimulating. It talks of the author, who was warned by a fortune teller, not to travel by plane in year 2003. And he didnt, instead travelling by road, trains and cars. And he gives a very different insight on the things he sees, and experiences.

I will be doing a great dis-service if I were to speed read through this one..

Virgin KTV go-er

Ooohh.. back from KTV @ Kbox with the usual gang, my virgin time some more *blush*. Went there today with wifey, so I was more reserved than usual.. whahaha..

Had some fun singing "Ben Xiao Hai" with YounG and Duck, almost brought down the house. Wahahaha.. Then sang a duet with wifey(Rooftop).. haha, very paisay, cos i dunno what voice to use mah. Should I use the more natural but 'rough' voice or the not so natural but smoother voice. Must go down 1 day with a smaller crowd to 'shi4 yin1'. Wahahaha

I actually know a lot of songs, which Winter noticed, and chided me,'Eh? u know the songs, why dont u sing?" Ehh, for the reason, refer to the previous paragraph. :p

Duck dam sporting though, belted out some canto songs with gr8 style. Wahaha.

YounG has to be the king of ballads. wahahahaha. I wonder how many girls he has serenaded before... hmmmmmmm..

The ladies in general had good voices. That Missy bluff me, saying she dint know how to sing when her voice turned out to be quite sweeet. Ahbish!

Pity I had to leave earlier, cos there were some stuff in the house left undone. Wanted to join them for dinner/supper after that, but Winter told me they extended it to 11 when i called her around 9. So they should be still singing as I am typing this.

Slightly disappointed, but I shall join them next time round.

Had great fun, but unfortunately, no cameras were allowed. Some of them shy mah. Heehee.

Nice KTV outing...

P.S. Next time i shall whore the mic! Duncare liaoz! hiak hiak hiak...

My first trip to Oasis

Woo, finally introduced to Oasis, the board games place.

Went down with the usual barflies, and then some.

Talk about the place first, actually quite different from what I had expected, actually thot it would be a nice cosy enclosed area on the first floor, but turned out to be a open air area on the ground floor. But the owners were nice and friendly, and we settled down pretty soon.

Games wise, wasnt what I initially had in mind tho, but it was still quite fun nevertheless. The fun lay in all the screaming and commotion we created, so much so that the rest of the ppl there were sttaring at us. Wahaha. A bit paisay, but, we are but young once. :-)

Managed to see C.Phoenix finally. Hahaha. I think a lot of peeps were surprised to see her, given her intent to stay anonymous. First time I met Frenie too.. :) Hi frenie! :)

After a short while, Sunshine and a big sized guy arrived! (I initially thought that was his bf. wahaha). What a pleasant surprise to see her, as initially thought she wasnt coming since she's stuck in her office. But it turned out that MG(the big sized guy) went over to fetch her down. Dint manage to talk much to her though, cos there were simply too many ppl around..

But this outing has given me an opportunity to know more about some ppl, whom I have met, but have not actually 'interacted' much with. They include Winter, frenie, CP and duck. Managed to see another side of Winter and duck. :)

I realised Missy is still the same as I thought she would be, so adorable. Haha. :) She makes me laugh most of the time..

YounG and Nad came later. I like YounG. He gives me good vibes more often than not, and he's one interesting guy.. Hmm..

Fast fwd a bit, we celebrated Winter's bday with a cake! The gals are shunned the cake, so i had to eat more, have to give the bday girl face mah.. :)

After a few rounds of chao ji mi ma after that, we left for home. Very tired you know..

But today I felt a little weird, cos there was something bothering me that I tried to ignore, but the bottomline is, i enjoyed myself.

And in the car, our conversation steered to the contents of one's blog. Breached the topic of what should one post and what one shouldnt? hmm.. what is considered too personal? You never know who's reading your blog.. hmm.. I'll need to reflect on this..

Related to this, I'm going to shift some posts over to blogsome, as they are some posts which i need to paassword protect..

Ok, time is runing, i better catch my beauty sleep. I have a game in 6 hrs time! :p Hee Hee.

A trip down the cold corridors

I dread walking down those hallways.

So cold.
So lonely.
So quiet.
So sad.

What a apt prelude to the destination...

The destination:

Tears.
Helplessness.
Consolation.
Pain.
Suffering.
Grief.

=========================================

I dread going to hospitals. My last visit there, was to check for an abnormality, which thankfully is missing.

I like to think to think I'm strong mentally, but today I falter.

My friend's dad, is in critical condition. I regard her dad as my friend too, as he has helped me several times, and is a good man. And it pains me to know he is suffering like this.

My mind draws a blank. I dont know how to feel when I see Uncle, who's in a coma. I dont know what to say when I see Auntie.

Finally, I saw Auntie sitting outside the ward. Her face is wrought with grief, and sadness, and the lack of rest is evident of her pale cheeks.

... ....

Got the donation form for platelets, and proceeded to their Blood Donation Centre. A cold and quiet place.

<>

At the Blood Donation Bank, my fears of needles started acting up. I must have been very pale then. I dint dare to look at the nurse, when she inserted 2 needles into me(ouch). The process, albeit rather painless, was quite scary for me. Tried to do some long overdue reading, and time passed quicky.

Kelvin, if you are reading this, thanks for coming down to give me morale support.

When I left, it was raining.. Are the heavens sad as well??

P.S. Socks, if you ever read this, I just wanna tell you that, I hope Uncle will really pull thru this time. I dunno what to say to you, I dunno how to comfort you. I just know you must feel terrible inside, and I hope the sun is just behind the clouds. Take care. Be strong.

A war

Huge battles are fought on many fronts simultaneously.

Hurt, pain, anguish, remorse, exasperation aplenty.

Recap of events

I wonder why I'm sacrificing my beauty sleep to be up doing this..

Did lunch with KM, CG and sunny Sunshine at Carl's Junior. Burgers were humungous, but I wasnt complaining cos I was starved by lunch time. I wolfed down the burger, and realised that, wow, it really fills(it'd better be considering it can buy me 2x BK/MacD meals). Talked a whole lot of crap, mainly to cheer CG up, but surprise surprise, I managed to brighten up the Sunshine a little. :-) But the carpark fees made me woozy, $7!!! wa cow!! hmm, am cotemplating taking a cab down to meet them next time.

Moped around the office for a while, but did something I shouldnt have done. Hope it didnt have dire consequences.. hmm.. we'll see about that one..

Received a blistered right foot after badminton today, as I gungho-ly played barefoot, as I absent-mindedly left my sports shoes at home.

After the game, encountered a thunderstorm, how apt..

Got an sms from a friend, I'm going down to NUH tomr to donate platelets for her dad. Her dad is one very nice guy, I'm praying that he'll pull through. So even thought I am TERRIFIED of needles, I shall go.. Wish me luck.

On a bright side, I recently sent Ms AKK a mail to encourage her, after reading her post. 2-3 days passed and I still dint receive any reply. So after re-reading her post a couple of times, I started to imagine what she was writing about. (I hope I'm wrong. ) But she has replied today, and I think she's feeling pretty ok already. Good news!

Thats 1 more person who will be in my prayers.

Of to sleep I go, sweet dreams I hope..

THANK YOU!!!

Just wanna say a big

THANK YOU!

to all the peeps who were so nice to PT yesterday.

:D

"
A YounG Cute Girl, driving in the middle of Winter, walked 5KM in search of a pretty walNUT, when a ray of warm Sunshine fell upon her.
"

You know who you are! :D

Image?

Was chatting with a friend yesterday, and she brought up something which got me thinking..

I guess, once upon a time, I decided to project a certain image, and it kinda got stuck. And I did some thinking, do I project different images to different groups of people? e.g. display professionalism at work, while displaying a more carefree attitude to fun loving friends, or displaying a more reserved front to more serious friends?

Maybe, maybe not..

Do others behave the same way? This might be a possible reason why its difficult to know a person, cos you'll only see one front, most of the time anyway.

Pensive Monday..

The day the barflies thrashed my place

Updated!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
- more apt description of duck
- and the appearance of another da mei nu!
- a quote from YounG
- included an interesting event
- deleted the interesting event(life at stake, bo bian)
- included missy's blog addy
- included KM's blog entry

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
(boy this must be the most edited entry ever lor)

Wahahaha! The title is over-exaggerated! My place is still intact!

Quite a couple of peeps came down to my place yesterday(17 Sep 05) There were Curious George, Sunshine, Missy, Serendipity, Winter, KingMeng, YounG, StupidGenius, and not to mention, a very surprise guest appearance from DuckHawk!! :D

Day started out with a badminton game for me in the morning, and after getting the necessary stuff for the visit, I reached home just before 12, before getting a SMS from Sunshine: “Hi PT, whos meeting for lunch?” If my memory served me correctly, there were a couple of people, so I checked with them. First, SG said,” I’m still waiting for Missy at her block”. Never mind, still got KM, then he told me ”I just woke up”

Wa lao eh, all these people fly Sunshine aeroplane sia! So I told Sunshine, you wait for me, I go lunch with you! So I managed a quick bath, before rushing out to meet Sunshine.

By the time I was there, SG and Missy were there already, and the thing that struck me was, Sunshine still dint get angry or anything like that, despite the fact that she has been waiting alone for 30 min. Got me really impressed, many girls would have freaked out, or at least complained a little, but Sunshine.. like nothing happened. Very impressed, first impression – Nice, mature young lady.

Fast forward, after a quick lunch, we drove over to my place, and we started a mahjong game comprising YounG, SG, KM and yours truly. The girls sorta entertained themselves(sorry! I’ve been a poor host!!), until CG and (surprise!) DuckHawk came! First time meeting DuckHawk, he has this dai-gor-dai hamsem look, a bit scary at first. But as time goes by, he’s actually quite interesting also. More on him later. :D

CG and the rest of the gals then went into my study room to have another game. DuckHawk, helped me entertain the rest of the girls by playing mahjong with them. Wa, I really impressed lor, cos Duck is

- a super experienced noob Mahjong player

- he normally plays 3-6(dollars cents).

But he’s playing for nothing with the gals! And he’s patiently teaching CG some more! What a nice guy! :D Pity he couldn’t join us for dinner..

I almost forgot the arrival of another DA MEI NYU! Ladies and gentleman, please welcome, Ms SERENDIPITY. Wa, came all dressed to kill. *wolf whistle*. And fey, if you are reading this, I dint take good care of her,(cos wife was around). YounG took VERY good care of her for you though. Hiak hiak hiak.

Oh ya, first time meeting Missy and KM and Winter too. Missy’s quite pretty I must say. :D Very adorable and approachable! And she plays WarCraft(DOTA) too! How cool is that? Next time must jio her and play.. Haha.. KM doesn’t look much like his MSN picture leh. But he sure is ‘resourceful’. :-) Winter, another chio bu! Very tall some more, keeps smiling one, and keeps eating titbits :D

After the games, we adjourned to steamboat dinner, where we had another round of fun! YounG being the gentleman that he is, sponsored a cab to the steamboat place. It’s a shame Winter and Duck couldn’t join us tho..

Ok la, couldn’t remember much details liaoz.. shall post this up first..

Man, what a long post.. hahaha

P.S. I'm so glad I took the leap of faith, as most of the barflies I have met, I have developed a sense of admiration and respect for them..

P.S.S YounG said something which is quite true, goes along the lines where ignorance is bliss, and what matters more is that one is happy, and enjoying oneself. Hm.. speaking of him, he writes very differently from his real self leh.. heeheee

Catchy song..

New song I heard on the radio, liked it a lot..
i'll buy if there's a single for it..

JUST A RIDE by JEM

Ok, time to work, before playing in the afternoon..

A costly mistake

PT went out shopping last week. After shopping around, PT decided to buy an apple. But accidentaly, PT bought 10 apples instead. But silly PT, still did not sell back the 9 apples(as he only wanted 1), but instead decided to wait.

Until last night, the 9 apples rotted.

PT ah PT, dont repeat the same mistake again ok?

Damage = 5 "Benjamin Franklins" instead of 1.

Oh well, PT shall not dwell on it for too long, move on he shall, and learn from this mistake he will, and earn back the 5 BenF, and then some.

Still a little sad, but at least PT dint lose his entire shopping basket.

My numbers

Interesting.. http://www.paulsadowski.com/Numbers.asp
from nad and 9.

70-80% for me..

You entered: XXX XXXXX XXX

There are 11 letters in your name.
Those 11 letters total to 61
There are 3 vowels and 8 consonants in your name.

Your number is: 7

The characteristics of #7 are: Analysis, understanding, knowledge, awareness, studious, meditating.

The expression or destiny for #7:
Thought, analysis, introspection, and seclusiveness are all characteristics of the expression number 7. The hallmark of the number 7 is a good mind, and especially good at searching out and finding the truth. You are so very capable of analyzing, judging and discriminating, that very little ever escapes your observation and deep understanding. You are the type of person that can really get involved in a search for wisdom or hidden truths, often becoming an authority on whatever it is your are focusing on. This can easily be of a technical or scientific nature, or it may be religious or occult, it matters very little, you pursue knowledge with the same sort of vigor. You can make a very fine teacher, or because of a natural inclination toward the spiritual, you may become deeply emerged in religious affairs or even psychic explorations. You tend to operate on a rather different wavelength, and many of your friends may not really know you very well. The positive aspects of the 7 expression are that you can be a true perfectionist in a very positive sense of the word. You are very logical, and usually employ a quite rational approach to most things you do. You can be so rational at times that you almost seem to lack emotion, and when you are faced with an emotional situation, you may have a bit of a problem coping with it. You have excellent capabilities to study and learn really deep and difficult subjects, and to search for hidden fundamentals. At full maturity you are likely to be a very peaceful and poised individual.

If there is an over supply of the number 7 in your makeup, the negative aspects of the number may be apparent. The chief negative of 7 relates to the limited degree of trust that you may have in people. A tendency to be highly introverted can make you a bit on the self-centered side, certainly very much self-contained . Because of this, you are not very adaptable, and you may tend to be overly critical and intolerant. You really like to work alone, at your own pace and in your own way. You neither show or understand emotions very well.

Your Soul Urge number is: 8

A Soul Urge number of 8 means:
With an 8 soul urge, you have a natural flare for big business and the challenges imposed by the commercial world. Power, status and success are very important to you. You have strong urges to supervise, organize and lead. Material desires are also very pronounced. You have good executive abilities, and with these, confidence, energy and ambition.

Your mind is analytical and judgment sound; you're a good judge of material values and also human character. Self-controlled, you rarely let emotions cloud judgment. You are somewhat of an organizer at heart, and you like to keep those beneath you organized and on a proper track. This is a personality that wants to lead, not follow. You want to be known for your planning ability and solid judgment.

The negative aspects of the 8 soul urge are the often dominating and exacting attitude. You may have a tendency to be very rigid, sometimes stubborn.

Your Inner Dream number is: 8

An Inner Dream number of 8 means:
You dream of success in the business or political world, of power and control of large material endeavors. You crave authority and recognition of executive skills. Your secret self may have very strong desire to become an entrepreneur.

I went to Zouk, and enjoyed myself

First, I went to YL's dinner at Hyatt, the food was so nice, though the dinner was dammmmm loooooong. By the time i finished, 1130pm liaoz. wa lao.

And during dinner, I snubbed YN's toe figuratively, but thats another story for another day.

After dinner, went to Amara to pick the rest of the peeps, but only CuriousGeorge hopped on. I must say, she's one of the more sporting ladies i met, cos she dun fly people aeroplane one. Even though its
- late
- the rest of her entourage are still partying at Amara
she still went down to Zouk. Cos we promised Mr. DarkelFin will be there. (actually should be DarkElfin, but we used to it liaoz)

When we reached there, DF, fey and Seren was there. Together with FatKitten(obviously tipsy). First thing FatKitten asked me was," U are the tabby ah? Looks so si boon!" To which I replied," U are the FatKitten ah? So fat!!"

But seriously, I dint say that, cos she's not fat at all, I only managed a weak smile, cos the long dinner got me in a crabby mood, and I was dam sleepy after the dinner.

And on the bottle were 2 bottles of whisky, courtesy of Fey and DF. Paisay, next time my turn to buy the brudders some drinks also.

Seren then left. So nice of her to keep Mr DF company till we came.

Fey then plied me with drinks, haha, not scared of him, but then I was driving that night, else can hoot each other. Next time fey, next time. Then started to get into the groove, and I started to relax a bit. But I dint dance la(I cant do that to save my lefe), I just sat there and bobbed my head to the music.

DF was his usual funny self, cracking jokes here and there. DF, by the way, is also known as the No1(disputed) handsome. Hur hur..

Then the fun started, CG and fey used their persuasive powers to get YounG to come down. Never met him before, but I have a good first impression of him. Crowd getting bigger.. then humsup DF got chiobu SillyCelly to join us, whom I dint really talk to. Shy mah. MOST IMPORTANTLY, PAIKIA came down!! Wa, made my night, always wanted to meet the guy, cos I think he's smart and dam smooth with words. After I saw him, I want to add another word, HANDSOME!!!

Then we partied on for a little while more, talk more cock, danced a bit, then i noticed this quite chio bu dancing 5 m beside me, so I looked at her for a while more. I think she noticed, cos after that she sat down beside me. Paikia and YounG noticed, and was egging me on. haha, I too shy lah.. :p And I also dunno what to do la.

Poor FatKitten lost her phone in the crowd.

After the clock striked 3, we left, and headed home. :) Drove PK, YounG and CG back. Very nice people in the bar so far. :)

the not so good thing, i reached home quite late..

New Look

Hvae finally started my long overdue decision to wear contacts. Have used dailies on-and-off infrequently, but now I'm on more regular monthly lenses. Hope I'll get used to them.

Many thanks to my sister who taught me how to maintain them. :-)

another C.O.M.E.X post

*note to self*

avoid the last day of such shows, or take public tranport.

*end note*

went to the abovementioned yesterday, cos Sat I was in JB visiting my in-laws, and Sunday was the only available day left.

Driving there as quite ok, but parking was HORRENDOUS. I had to stop and wait inside my car in front of some lots, and wait for a parking lot. And every1 parked illegally inside the car park, and the dam du-lan thing was, while waiting, someone parked illegally in front of me! TaMaDe, why dint I think of that earlier?!?!

Anyway, waited around 30 mins, when I saw this car, which was 3 lots away leaving. Hwah, dam happy, until another car, which just overtook me, proceeded to park in the slot.

@#!@#@!$@$!@

I horned and high beamed, then told him I was waiting for the slot. But then he parked his car inside liaoz.

Miracously, he then gave up the slot to me, I guess he dint see me in the first place.. Felt a little guilty for being so worked up in the first place.

Then went to the exhibition, bought a 19in LCD, which I'm going to put at home, and the one at home shall be used in the offce. That will do my eyes plenty of good. :-) I saved $60 on the monitor, cos it was sorta 'on offer' on Sunday, so quite happy. And bought another 3-in-1 printer, which the wifey needs to use for her work.

A shocking thing is that I asked them how much they earned per unit sold. They told me its $2. WA LAO!! Where got motivation like that, you tell me? Then again, maybe they'll have some nice bonus if they manage to sell a certain number of units. My heart goes out to them.

Then went home after that, and went car-shopping with my brother, then went home and watch CSI-Season 2. Tiring Sunday..
